QUALITY STANDARD BRED AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERDS

Welcome to my website.  I want to share some pictures and history about my Australian Shepherds.  We live on a farm in South Georgia where I raise and breed these wonderful dogs.  I have had Aussies in my life since 1985;  I discovered then what intelligent dogs they are.   It wasn't until 2009 that I decided I wanted to breed these incredible dogs.   

There is a lot of research and more research that one has to do before even considering breeding.   It is a continual learning process as new information and testing becomes available.  Genetic health testing is just one of the very important factors to consider, as is structure and temperament.  In addition, researching pedigrees and familiarizing yourself with the different bloodlines out there is equally important.  There are a lot of dogs plagued with genetic diseases, and being aware and educated about the many different genetic diseases will help you avoid them.  There are bad breeders who will tell you anything you want to hear just to sell you a puppy and there are good breeders who will go the extra mile and help you make the right decision on selecting a puppy for you and your family that meets  your needs.   A good breeder will also be available to answer questions and advise throughout the Aussie's life.  So with that being said, I searched for several years  for all the qualities that I wanted in an Australian Shepherd.   

Needless to say, I had a lot of disappointment and time and money spent along the way, but eventually I found the quality I was searching for.   It takes a lot of time,  continuous financial commitment, hard work, and determination to achieve a good breeding program.  I can't even begin to express it enough.   I don't just breed to crank out puppies.  I breed with thought and plan to improve the breed.   I think about how the dog is built, about the temperament, faults, qualities,  genetic health, how each dog can give their traits and qualities to contribute to their offspring.   DNA/Genetics and Mother Nature work hand and hand, and as a breeder it is exciting to have a part in the process.  Having a healthy, sound and well rounded companion is my goal.  Breeding Australian Shepherds is not only rewarding but a lot of hard work and commitment.   I wouldn't have it any other way.
